Hi Marya! I'm thinking that your Pickron family and mine are the same. The reason is that I have a Ggrandmother (abt 1860)with the name of LouV/Lavicy Pickron Burgess. I'm thinking that this may be the granddaughter of your Lavicy & Elijah Pickron. My LouV/Lavicy mother was Sophronia Pickron; buried in Pelham, Ga, Old City Cemetary. Do you know the names of the ladies that married Algien, James E, or Jacob Pickron? I'm thinking that Sophronia could be one of they wives. This is what I know about my Pickrons: They lived in from Mitchell Co. GA (1880 Census). I have been looking for a few years but I've made no head way on the Pickron branch of my tree. What I do know is my ggrandmother was Sophronia Pickron b: about 1843. I do not know her madien name, her husband’s first name or her parents names). In the 1880 census Sophronia was living in Mitchell Co. with her daughter /Lou V/Lavicy/Louisa Burgess (b: Nov 1860), and son-in-law Thomas Jefferson Burgess (b: 1855; per 1880 censes). Thomas and LouV/Lavicy/Louisa Burgess had the following children: Annie b:Feb. 1884, Benjamin b:Jan.27,1886 (my grandfather), Henry b:Nov 1888, Rolly J. b:Nov. 1890, Charles b:May 1893, Sophronia (Fronnie) Nov. 1897. Do you see any match between my Pickron's and yours? Many thanks, Cindy Lyle Notify Administrator about this message?
