John Pickstock missing 1851 and 1881

This forum is looking pretty sad with only three messages and I'm not getting anywhere with my Pickstocks so I thought I'd post another message.
I'm having problems locating JOHN PICKSTOCK (father).. the one who married ANN JOHNSON. I have located Ann and her son John on the 1851 census. The details are as follows:

220 Over Lane, Township of Over
John Johnson, head, married, 54, pauper, born Over
Fanny (?) Johnson, wife, married, 54,..... born Over
Ann Pickstock, daughter (I think that's what it says but it's scribbled on),22, waterman's wife, born Over
John Pickstock, grandson (again, it's not clear, could be "ditto's son"), ??? months, born Over

These just have to be my Pickstocks but where is John the father? I can't find Ann or her husband on the 1881 census either, though their son is there with his family.

Any ideas??
