Hi Karen. So great to hear from you. I did not know Pio was married or had children. I have only read a little about Pio in helping my 3 children do the 4th grade research for the missions.

I know a little about my great grandfather, a Mr. Osuna (I do not even know his first name). He married my great grandmother, Leanora Pico. I believe her home was Rancho Margarita (now Camp Pendelton). That is about all I know so far as to the Pico side of the family. I have a cousin in Oceanside, Barbara Lang, who was a member of the organization, Californianos. This oranization is for interested relatives of the early California land grant families. I have been thinking for sometime about joining. Once a year, the State Capital in Sacto. opens the archives to the members. They are free to do research for the entire weekend. Have you heard of that organization? I also know that my parish priest introduced me to a magazine with the same title with stories of the past early californianos handed down through generations and in the history books.

It would be great to become a member. My cousin Barbara said she has the Osuna lineage traced back to Zorro; however, she will not share with the rest of the family because she wants information first from us regarding details about our immediate family so she doesn't have to research herself. I can't blame her. Perhaps I could elicit my daughters to help in this and be reconnected with Barbara. Should I find informaton about Pio in my search, I certainly will let you know. Also, should find out which Pico my grandma Leonora Pico osuna comes from, I would be very interested knowing. Maybe Anderes or Jose? I really don't know anything except for Rancho Santa Margarita as her old home. I know she was very religious and was very involved in the San Luis Rey Mission. In fact, my aunts lived with the nuns there in grade and high school years and Grandma Leonora Pico Osuna lived there with the nuns in her last years of life.

Thank you so much in responding. Hope to hear again from you.
