Hello Herbert,
My family (Picone) came from Grotte (Sicily) in 1912. They settled in Brooklyn NY. Pietro (Peter) b. 1870 and wife Maria b. 1876 had 7 children. I don't have any information on Peter's brothers or sisters. But family has told me that we have family in Louisiana - I haven't made any connections yet. The way I found out exactly where my family was from was by contacting the NY Archives (via email) and they were able to help me. I recently ordered records from FHC and I will be viewing them the first week in January. They are birth & marriage records for 1879-1910 for Grotte. I'm hoping to find siblings of Pietro. Also, I was able to find my family on ellisisland.com. If there is any connection I will contact you. You can email directly anytime if I can help you.

Regards,
Margaret
