The Bartolo Picone about whom you seek information may well be related to or is my maternal grandfather's brother, Giuseppi (Joseph) Picone. If so,the facts that I have:
Eugenia Fiorentina, one of seven sisters whose father was a tailor, married Antonio Picone, a merchant in Lingua (Island of Salina, Province of Messina, Italy). That union produced five boys, namely: Giuseppi, Bartolo, Luigi, Giacomo and Vincenzo Picone.
Bartolo Picone married Caterina DeStefano, the latter the daughter of Josephine Fiorentina (sister of Eugenia Fiorentina) and Bartolo DeStafano.
The Josephine Fiorentina-Bartolomeo DeStafano (the latter, a boat builder in Rinella, Island of Salina) union produced:Bartolo, Luigi, Giacomo and Caterina. These data were supplied by Eugenia (Jean) Picone, now deceased, daughter of Bartolo Picone and Caterina DeStanfo Picone.
