Hi Nancy,
Well not having lookled at a map i think Bakewell is somewhere near Derby. I think. this is about 50 miles from where i live, but i contacted someone else on the genealogy forum, i will come back to you on that. But i have a frame on my wall, which is approx 18 inches by 12 , thats 406 x 200. and from top to bottom is covered in italics writing about the ancient history of the piddocks. Some points are: that piddock from time to time was also officially spelled, pidcock, pidocock. pitcock, pittock. the name is from the Saxons. They settled in Kent and eventually moved north. It is an English name , and it emerged influentially in Somerset, where they were seated as the lords of the manor of Piddock. Traditionaly the name descended from Paeda the first christian King of Mercia and settled in Somerset in the llth century."In north America, the first descendants of this surname, on a variable spelling of this name, was Thomas piddock who settled in Maine in 1623, William Piddock settled in Virginia in 1679. An ancient coat of arms found was: black and red a pied cock between three acorns. The crest was: a griffin holding a grenade. These are just a few quotes. there is far too much, i hope thats helps you with the name and your search . take care Margaret. If you need more info contact me.

From Online Message Board:
I believe George Everett was the father of Nathan and Abigail Everett. Abigail married Nathaniel Doty, brother of Mary Doty, who married Nathan. This is all new information to me but I am 99% sure it is correct. According to DNA markers, George is a direct descendant of Richard Everett of Jamaica, Long Island.

I know this is just a long shot as I have been unable to find any Everetts in NJ. My GG grandmother was Sarah Everett m Thomas Pidcock probably around 1820. Her oldest son my g grandfather was named William Courson(Corson) Hurley Pidcock. I wonder about that given name also. They came to Ohio from Greenwich Twnshp Warren Co NJ. Any info would really be appreciated. Nancy

Notes for John Everitt:
From the Everitt Message Board:
There were lot of Everitts in Hunterdon County, NJ around Hopewell and Everittstown. This is in the general area of the state where Warren County is located. This group is basically descended from two brothers, John and Samuel, who were sons of Nicholas Everitt of Long Island, NY. One of the Everitt(ett)s moved to western Pennsylvania and I believe is the ancestor of the Everitts in Ohio. There are others on the forum who can give you a rundown on that line. Mine took a different turn and wound up in Georgia and points west, ending up in Texas.

Some researchers show this John Everitt and Elizabeth Timmons as being born in Burton, Dorset, England. They can offer no supporting proof.

Looking for any/all info concerning the family before and after the marriage of Jonathan & Ankey Pidcock (some time around the early-mid 1700's. We know of a son Charles but believe there may have been more children too. I am descended through George Parsons, who's mother was Sara (Sallie) Pidcock.
Also especially looking for additional info on "Ankey" herself; believed to be Native American of the area. These are the Pidcock's of Bucks County, PA, whom the creek is named after and who built the Thompson-Neely House. It's understood that Jonathan and Ankey are buried at Bowman's Tower area.
Source: Official Register - Officers and Men of New Jersey, Revolutionary War Compiled by William S. Stryker
Jonathon Pidcock served under Capt. John Phillips, 3rd Regiment, Hunterdon, N.J.

There were two other Pidcocks that served for N. J. They were Charles (in same company as Jonathon) and Isaac Pidcock.
Have DAR File #483166 submitted in 1985.

Notes for Ankey:
The Pidcock Reunion will be held at General Sulivan's Pavilion at Thompson Neely on May 4th. You may want to contact Cathy Pidcock Thomas for information on obtaining all that pidcock family history.
