Hi Bea!
St. Giles, Gt. Longstone, was originally a chapel of Bakewell, Derbyshire. The village lies approx. 3 miles NW of Bakewell. The 2 graves I mentioned lie W of S door next to the path. The Local History Society have made an inventory of all graves and inscriptions in the churchyard. From my notes;-
1. Sarah Pidcock, wife of William Pidcock, died 2 July, 1855, aet. 67.
and of Samson Pidcock, their son, died 21 October, 1832, (aet.4) (indistinct)
Ann Mackintire, their daughter, died 21 September, 1835, aet. 25
and of William Pidcock died 25 March, 1869, aet. 80.

2. George Pidcock, died 30 January, 1738, aet. 79.
Anthony Pidcock died 1773 aet. 86.

My gr. grandmother, Mary Pidcock, was christened in St. G's on 4 Feb. 1844; her parents were William and Elizabeth. She married my gr. grandfather, Thomas Paling, in 1865 in St. Giles, and she died in early 1900s in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Her father William is described as a farmer on the marriage certificate. The 4 eldest children of Thomas and Mary were christened in St. Giles altho I am almost sure they were not living there.

That is as much as I know at the present although as I now live in Sheffield which is not far from Great Longstone I may get to know more in future. However the Derbyshire Record Office is in New St., Matlock, so it is not that easy for me to get to without a car!

All the best with your searches
