Yes Ann, I too have heard the story of the change inthe name spelling of pieper. So your gggrandfather was a Borgman I assume. Christian was born inNov. 1831.He and Agusta had two sons, Emil Gerhart born in1867 in Watertown,Wi. and my greatgrandfather Albert was born in 1872 in Mitchall co. Iowa. What is strange is I have a copy of a 1900 census with a Timmio? Borgman living with Emils family as a boarder from Germany. And they lived next door to Albert and Emma , my greatgrandfather, in GrundyCo. Iowa . Sure sounds close to me. Thanks, Paulette
