I'm following up a little late, but the new info I have is that Henrietta Pepenburg (Petenburg, Piepenburg) b. May 28, 1840 in Friedenstal, Germany, married John Carl Wesenberg and they immigrated to the US in 1868 and 1869 respectively. Henrietta Pepenburg immigrated with 5 children, Emelia (Amelia), Wilhelmina, Johan Carl Gottfried, Albertina Alvina and Elizabeth Mary Auguste.

Henrietta Pepenburg married John Carl Wesenberg in 1860 in Berlin, probably in a Lutheran Church. Their first 5 children were born in Buddenbrock, Germany. After they immigrated to the US, the next 5 children were born in Caledonia, Houston County, Minnesota.

Do you think your Pieper family could be my Piepenburg, Pepenburg, Petenburgs?

Best Wishes,
Catharine Becker
