I'll eventually sort it all out I suppose.

As I said, these are lines I'm just beginning to really research. Not my lines . . . my husband's family, actually his mother's family.

Really strange though . . . because my grandmother was Dora Ellen PIPER . . . and this surname got changed to PIFER during a census, misspelled. Part of the family used Piper, the other part used Pifer.

I just wonder if Pieper was the original spelling and somewhere "along the line", the "e" was dropped . . . ???

Have you heard/seen any info regardin this . . . ???
