Why do you say Westfalen?
One time I posted a query about our Maria Pieper b circa 1750-1770 era , probably Westfalen and this question was asked of me.
I had said Westfalen because some other family names were from around that area and I had to start somewhere.
I was told many Piepers came from Lower Saxony.
Still have not been able to find any further information
