Hi, all. I have posted a revised version of Pieratt geneology at:
I have copies of documents where Valentine Pieratt applied for a pension for serving in the revolutionary war. It was declined because he was to receive a pension from the French Legion. The interesting part, however, is that the document shows the spelling of his name as Valentine Pierrat, which certainly is in line with the French websites that showed that spelling. It also clears up misconceptions about how and when he arrived in America and his service. He was in fact a soldier stationed in the Caribbean area and was moved to America with his legion group when France officially entered the revolutionary war as an ally to the American leaders.
