James Allen Piercefield, b. 3-16-1889, d. 3-3-58, married Martha Zimenia Tilley on 1-28-1911 in Jackson Co., Ohio. They had 9 children who lived: Marth Lucinda, Charles Arthur, Evelyn Dorothy, Alma Virginia, Paul Glendon, Otis Franklin, Helen Laverne, and Vera Ann. Only Vera Ann Basham is alive today. I was married to Helen Laverne, who died in 1997.
James parents were: James Allen Piercefield, b. 1861, d. ?, and Lucinda Johnson, b. 3-3-1870, d. 1-7-23. They were married on 10-7-1887 in Jackson Co., Ohio. Lucinda Johnson was born in Ky., but I'm not sure about James. Lucinda's father was Hiram Johnson.
They had 3 surviving children: James Allen, Jr., David, b. 8-1897, d. 10-34; Mary J., b. 6-10-1892.
Both Lucinda and David may be buried in Ridgewood Cemetery (Vinton Co.?), and there are Piercefields and Johnsons in Elk Cemetery (Vinton Co.?)
I have not done any Ky research beyond James Allen Sr., except that there are a lot of Piercefields in SE Kentucky, in the early 1800's, and they apparently came from the Wytheville area in Virginia.
Hope this little bit of info is helpful. If you do track down James Allen, Sr.'s parents, etc. I'd love to hear from you.
