Carol, The following is a very short version of the Texas Pierponts. I have too much info to type out here.

William J. D. Pierpont was the son of William Pierpont son of Evelyn Pierpont son of James Pierpont.

William Married Sophronia Frisbie about 1818 and started his interesting life. He lived in western NY then went to Ohio where W.J.D. was born. From there he went to MO where his daughter Virginia Louisa was born in 1834. He next shows up in Shelby Co. TX in 1837 where he is elected to the 2nd Texas Congress. He then moved to Houston where he had a Mercantile Store. He was a member of the 1st Holland Lodge in Houston. He was one of the first vestryman of the Christ Church Episcopal Church. He was on the first school committee in Houston. He set up a store on Sping Creek where the present day town of Spring is. His wife Sophronia died in 1840. Later he married Elizabeth(Lippencott Markley Austin) Parrott. They had one son who died in his late teens. They opened a stage stop on the road from Indianola to San Antonio in DeWitt Co.Elizabeth died there in the 1850's. He died at his daughters (Agnes Dawson) home in Wharton Co. about 1866.

I can email you more if you are intrested.
