All my papers are currently stored away so this is frm memory. The RANDOLs seem to have started migrating frm New England having probably come across the ocean during the very early stages of "The Great Migration". They lived in Westchester Co, NY then went to New Jersey and thence tried to settle in NE Pennsylvania but were forced to flee back to NJ during {one of} the 1st,2nd or 3rd YANKEE-PENNAMITE WARS. Because one of the Randols had boat-building skills he prob would have picked up these along the headwaters of the OHIO RIVER. This would imply that most of his near relatives migrated further on using the river. I nxt find Samuel Randol {having fallen deeply in love with} Mary Pierpoint having their first child JOHN
RANDOL in Hardin Co. The following yr they go {?back?} upstream to marry in Campbell Co,KY. {I also notice several surnames in that area {it's right across frm Cincinnati} which would be linked later on in the Cape Girardeau area.} They would have another boy. Samuel would later be murdered by a {?Thompson?} in Missouri. I suspect that Mary married again & possibly to a diferent Samuel Randol. Her will seems to show two underage daughters. Her will implies several children. Hiram may have been a son or at least a nephew. Mary & Hiram seem to have moved later across the river to UNION Co, Illinois. Abraham Randol is prob Mary's nephew or son. I have a copy of A.B.Stickney's research published in 1954 which links up with the {West} Virginia & Maryland Pierpoints in which I remember LARKIN & HOLLAND being mentioned.
