St Malo was an important port and it's quite sure that "little Jean" came from an other region of France. Can try to know were ?
Nota : at this era, the frenchmen were very short and 5'5" is an average height.
Now, we are taller but I'm also average height and dark complected like 10 millions frenchmen !
The firts name of your grgrgrand father and his brother and sister are very nice "Sylvain", Lanou (pronounce "Lanu"), "Masolete" (in French the name must have two "tt", "Masolette" or an accent on the "e" like "è", "Masolète" and pronouce the "e" like "a" in english) and refreshing !
