Thaddeus C. Pierson b. 1843 IN
I know there are some bits and pieces out there on this guy, but I thought that I might throw some fuel on the fire and hopefully find someone who can help me sort out this family.
Thaddeus Constantine Pierson was the child of whom?Does his death certificate say?He married Iantha Brinka Dodge and had at least two children: Frank and Mary.Thad and Iantha are buried in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City, Floyd Co., IA.
I believe I finally located Thad and his sister Arthusy in 1850, but in doing so only added to my confusion.I'm hoping that this might give someone the opportunity to say, "aha!", and help me out.I was coming from the direction of their step-father, Ira B. Day, so please bear with me.
Ira B. Day married Lorana Mitchell in Scott Co., IN in 1838. They are in the 1850 census in Jennings, Scott Co., IN with children Perine (b. 1842), Albert (b.@1845) and Luke (b.@1850). Per the diary of Sarah Bovard, Lorana was sick in January 1859. She died 20 Feb 1859, per her headstone in Wiggam Cemetery, Jefferson Co., IN. Perine is also buried there, having died in 1857. I've read some posts online that they also had a son Walter b. 1854, who lived to adulthood.
So then Ira and the boys (Albert and Luke) are found in 1860 Saint Charles, Floyd Co., Iowa, with new wife Mary (b.@1829 KY) and two new children: Thadeus C. & Arthusy Pierson, both born in Indiana.

One would then assume (I know, I know) that Mary was previously married to a Pierson and had the two children. However, I have had NO luck finding them in 1850, so I went to the IN marriage records and found where an Ira B. Day married a Mary Ann Wence in either: 1857 or 1859, depending on which entry you look at, in Vigo Co., IN. If we go with the 1859 year, it works.

So then I went looking for a Mary Wence (soundex) in 1850, and found "Mary Wener" in Jackson, Sullivan Co., IN...
