My name is Lorna Alison Pietras. My grandfather was Leonard Pietras who had a brother called Ludwig and many other siblings who unfortunately, I dont know the names of. I know my grandfather was Polish and lived near Warsaw before serving as a Polish paratrooper and was captured and held in a POW camp before coming to live in England in Oldham, Lancs after world war II. Sadly he died in September 2001 aged eighty six. I thought that Ludwig was his elder brother so we may not be the Pietras you are looking for. I think the original name was Pietrasciwz shortened to Pietras when he came to England. I live in Nottinghamshire but I do know there is one other Pietras listed in our local phone book who is no relation:
W. Pietras who lives at 2 Main Street, Hackthorn, Notts.
I hope you find who you are looking for and feel free to contact me for more details if you wish.
My email is: lornapietras@hotmail.com
