I am looking for relatives of Nancy Ella Pietrzak, who went by Ella. She was born about 1928 and died with her fiance, Lewis Filyes, in a terrible car crash near Friendship, Wisconsin about 1948. Sadly, Ella's grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Elliott of Grand Marsh, witnessed the crash.
Ella was from that general area originally but had been living in Waukesha, Waukesha Co., WI with her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ryan, after her divorce from my uncle, Merle O. Carpenter. The news article about the crash also mentions Ella's brother, Donald Pietrzak, and an infant niece, and she may have had other siblings.
My uncle was a photographer and Ella was a beautiful and young woman and his favorite subject. We have many lovely portraits of her. We also recently found an envelope with a dozen or so snapshots of Ella as a young girl and with various other relatives. One identifies Ella as "Eunice's daughter," but most are unidentifed. These are photos that a family would want to keep, but which someone will need to identify soon, if ever.
My uncle eventually remarried after Ella's death. She had no children and her grave in Friendship was unmarked when my uncle visited long ago. We would like to make sure that Ella is remembered, so I am hoping that a family member or Pietrzak genealogist can be found who would want to preserve some of these lovely photos.
