I have found out that Israel Pifer's parents were John Pifer (3-19-1899 to 4-21-1878)and Mary M. (unknown) Pifer born about 1801 in Pa. I believe they were in Mifflin Co., Pa.
until about 1830, then spent about 20 years in Ohio (perhaps Fairfield Co.) until the 1850's when they settled in Moutrie Co., IL. In addition to Israel, children were Daniel, Christina, Samuel, David, Catharine, and Margaret.
