062601 Lin, I saw your message, and wondered if there was any connection to our Pifer's. Donald L. Pifer, is my husband. His great grest grandfather was John Clark Pifer, who was from Ohio, John's parents were from Pa. We do not know they're names, or where in Pa. they were from. John Clark Pifer was killed in the Civil War, at the siege for the Battle of Atlanta. I just wondered if that was his name you saw at Gettysburg? Our line of Pifer's also came from Germany,in the area around the Rhine Valley . Please reply. Glenda Pifer
