John Clark Pifer is my 3 great grandpa. He was born on Feb 25, 1816 in Columbiana County, OH and he died on Aug. 9 in Atlanta, GA (In the Civil War). He married Susannah Flick in Oct or April 2, 1837 in Columbiana County, OH. She was born Apr 6 1819 in Penn and died on Oct 19, 1900 in Wayne County, Il. They had the following children:
Mary E. Pifer b 1837, OH d 1885, Wise, TX
Eliza Jane Pifer b Aug 17 1838, OH
Margaret Similde Pifer b Sept 25, 1840, OH
James H. Pifer b 1843, OH
William H. Pifer b 1845, OH
John Clark Pifer, Jr. b Mar 21, 1853, OH d Feb 5, 1925, Fairfield, IL
George A Pifer b 1855, OH
Aldrige O Pifer b 1859
So far this is all I have found and I hope it is correct. I haven't found John Clark Pifer's parents or Susannah Flick's, but I did find some Pfeiffer's and Flicks who came over from Germany to Penn on Sept 23, 1751 on the Ship Neptune, James Wier Captain from Rotterdam, last from Cowes, 154 passengers. I haven't found the connection yet, but thought it a big coincidence that Pfeiffer's and Flicks came on the same boat. The names listed were:
Joh. Phil. Daniel Pfeiffer
Johannes Henrich Peiffer (Pfeiffer)
Joh. Peter Flick
Joh. Philip Flick
Gerlach Paul Flick
