Just read your message, wondering if you have had luck with your Pifer family. My gggrandfather, John Pfeiffer/Pifer/etc. was b. ca 1822 in Baden Germany. I have been unable to connect him with any parents or siblings in the US. His wife was Elizabeth ? He had children in Wayne Co, Pa beginning ca 1850: Barbara, John (m. Catherine Buckley, my ggrandparents), Mary, Maggie and Dora. I have some info on these children. I suspect my John may have had family in another Co. as he seems to be the only one in Wayne Co. I have him on cencus 1850-1900, have his will, obit and headstone info but no more.
