Sorry Gilles that it has taken me so long to reply.
I am in the middle of moving and it appears that the geneology papers I have are all packed away. I don't recall ever hearing anything about Marie being adopted but if I do I'll let you know.
I will also make a mental note to check my papers once I have moved and unpacked them.
