Interesting!Let me ask and note something.
Genevieve Deschamps married a Gabriel Mathon
1809. She is d/o Etienne (dit Bourgouinon)& Marie Baril. In LDS records she is also listed as Genevieve COLOMBE! I find little to nothing on this name. Now comes this Iroquois connection ( If we can call it that).Is COLOMBE an indian name? Could Genevieve have been married before?Would she get the names from another part of the family with indian connections?
I do not know, but this Colombe name is in your postings and limited elswhere. Maybe you folks can lead me " on the merry chase"
