Did you know that the Lavigne family is married into the Lacelle familly. My grandmother is Marie-ann Roireau dit Laliberte she married Telesphore Lacelle and her sister Eva went by the name of Lavigne. The name also appears in the Pepin family Charles-Francois Pepin married Louise-Catherine Rivard dit Lavigne. Some of the Lavigne/Laliberte family lived in Tupper Lake New york and some in Plessisville, Meganntic, Quebec, Canada. I remember my grandmother saying that the two families had been friends for along time. They were in Quebec and then went to the U.S. when the war had broke out and the French lots to the English, that is when the left Canada. Hopefully this well help.
Take care and good luck,
you may contact me if you wish
Darlene
