Ted ..I do not have PILANTs to my knowledge, however you and I share surnames on lines that seem to be branches off my lines that were in the Carolinas in the 1700s (perhaps VA prior and evidence shows that) ...then across the Deep South or through TN and AR.
I tried to email you, but your address is no longer active, so I hope you're checking these boards.
I found your PhpGedView PYLANT tree with Wilson N. DAMRON / DAMERON and wife Sarah McCLAIN. (recently found evidence he went early to AR Washington Co and had a mill). This is part of my McCLAIN line that was in Adair / Greene Co KY. Sarah was a sister to Charles McCLAIN b about 1784-87 NC..my gggg grandfather.
My gggg grandparents Charles McCLAIN b about 1784-87 in NC we think and wife Elizabeth UNK finally settled in Weakley Co TN. Soon after his death, much of the family scattered, mostly to MO and AR. My ggg grandfather Charles b about 1809 IL or TN and wife Perlina A. UNK b 1811 TN went to Lawrence Co AR and in 1850 are in Strawberry township. Some of the line went to Independence Co and another branch went to Johnson / Logan Co AR and later into OK.
DAMRON, Dameron SCHULTZ, DAUGHTERTY, Dougherty, Doughty ADKISSON (all spellings, Adkins, Atkinson, etc.) and McDANIELS are some allied lines that were in KY and TN, and several of us are working to find the McCLAINs prior to their being in Adair / Greene Co KY (and other counties we are reasonably sure) ..which is in the late 1700s timeframe. We have several cousins researching together.
I also have AGEEs, ANDREWS (Anders), PULLENs, HOUSE and COOPERs and allied lines associated with those familes that came either of of Wilkes / Lincoln GA to AR ..or Spartanburg SC to AR between 1845-1856 ...settling in St Francis and Monroe County, and Woodruff.
I hope to hear from you.---Audrey
