Thomas Pilchard - Worcester Co., Md.

Thomas Pilchard, b. Sep. 4, 1770 in (according to family bible) Snow Hill, Worcester County, Maryland. Married to Nancy Ellis, believed born in Somerset County, Maryland. Migrated to Meigs County, Ohio in 1824. Had one daughter, name unknown, born 1795-1799; four sons, Peter,b. 1800, John b. 1807, Lewis Thomas b. 1812, and Leonard Lybrand b. 1816, all born Snow Hill, Worcester County, Maryland. The daughter was either married or deceased before the entire family moved to Ohio.

Nancy Ellis was born Dec 26, 1777. Had one brother, John, who migrated with the Pilchard family to Ohio.

Last record of them in Maryland is the 1800 census records. No subsequent records although all children stated they were born in Worcester County, Maryland.

Need the parents names of both Thomas Pilchard and Nancy Ellis. Family legend states the generations always alternated names of father and son; i.e. Thomas, Peter, Thomas, Peter, etc. I find no Peter Pilchard in Worcester County, Md. There is one Peter Pilchard old enough to be the father of Thomas in Culpepper County, Virginia but no records can be found. Anyone got anything on this family or any suggestions. Can use all the help I can get. Thanks
