Hi Eric,

I just came across a history book that you might find interesting. There are several pages listed in the index for Joshua and John Pilcher. Best of all, it is an interesting read about the fur trade and various tribes in this time frame and along the Missouri. It specifically talks about the traders who married into the tribes. You really gain a lot of insight into how these people lived and what the influences in their lives were. It seems to be well researched and documented, listing the sources.

The title is: "THE MANY HANDS OF MY RELATIONS, French and Indians on the lower Missouri" by Tanis C. Thorne.

I'll be researching the fur trade and this time frame for awhile longer. I'd be glad to keep an eye out for your Pilcher's. Just let me know if there is anything specific you are looking for regarding details about them. Glad to help if I can.

Karren A.
