Pilchers marrying Carltons in Kent, Eng. in 1770s.

It appears that John Pilcher married Mary Carlton in 1771 in Tilmanstone, Kent. About the same time, Edward Carlton married Ann Pilcher in 1772 in Tilmanstone. Thomas Pilcher was a witness to the wedding of Edward and Ann. Edward Carlton and Ann Pilcher (before they got married) were witnesses to the wedding of John and Mary.

Does anyone know anything about the parents of either John and Ann Pilcher? Wonder if they were brother and sister? Was Thomas a brother or father to Ann Pilcher?

How about the parents of Edward and Mary Carlton? Maybe they were also brother and sister. The families must have been close.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Howard
