Marie,

I appreciate your answer to my post and your offer of information. I have found my Pilcher family in the 1880 census -- finally -- but not in Pontotoc County as my cousin said. After the Civil War counties in north MS
were broken up and several new ones were created. James Madison and Sarah (nickname Zady) were in the Lafayette Springs district of Lafayette County, MS. This county borders Pontotoc County and I feel they were probably in
Pontotoc County before the War.

Contact me privately and I will send you my snail mail address. My e-mail addy is

LindaLpearson@aol.com

I look forward to hearing from you.

Linda
