" His father is William Henry Pilkinton (bn. 1846). From there we presume based on dates that his father is Minor C. Pilkinton (bn. 1817) but have never found substabtial proof. Then on to Larkin Pilkinton and Nicanor Pilkinton (maybe)"
According to the Administration papers of Larkin Pilkinton estate of which you may have a copy..........
"To the heirs of Minor C. Pilkington dec'd... to wit William H. Pilkington Lafayette Pilkington John W. Pilkington Nancy Pilkington for your one fourth of the above balance....."
Seems like pretty good proof considering the rarity of the Pilkinton name. I am glad you set me straight on the fact that James is the son of William son of M.C. and not John W.!!
