Wallace,
The last few follow-ups to your post were of the more formal (census & marr) record sources. I have exchanged much info with Patsy Calahan, and she has sent me several pages of research notes on Adkins-Young & connected fams.

The last follow-up, Pilkinton post #64, was early marr & census data that listed, among others, Walter Pilkinton.

Walter Pilkinton md Lettie (Letisha/Lettice) Mae Crews/Osborne b abt 1883, dau of Judith ("Jude") Crews( who md Robert Osborne), dau of Snady Crews & Elizabeth Mantlo.

Robert Osborne/Orsborne's sis, Eliza P Osburne md Newton Franklin Young, son of Matilda J Chaffin & Robert Young, son of John Young (Rev Sol) & MISS ADKINS. Frank & Eliza had 3 sons, the eldest was Michael Andrew ("Brigham") Young, whose 1st of 3 wives was Amanda Anna "Annie" Day, dau of John Day & Harriet Adkins. Andy & Annie's 2nd son was named Burke Taylor ("Buck") Young who md Annie Katherine Jones, dau of Samuel Noah Jones & Sarah "Sally" Crews (sis of "Jude" Crews).

Robert Osborne's bro, md Mary Virginia Arney, dau of John Arney & Frances Crigger. John & Frances's 2nd ch & son, James W Osborne md Johnnie Nola Gifford, dau of Frank Gifford & Laura Pilkinton (sis of Walter Pilkinton).

Welcome to Adkins family research. MANY descs of John Young & MISS ADKINS md descs of John Adkins & his wifes, mostly in & around Culleoka & Scribner's Mill area. I'm still searching for some clue as to the relationship between Miss Adkins & John "Old man Jackie" Adkins, and if you thouhgt the Pilkinton research made you stop & scratch your head, ... , more later, Richard.
