I want to thank you for taking the time to share information on the Pillion family. I am related to the Pillion family from Newton, MA.

Patrick & Bridget Noon Pillion who were married in Cambridge, MA on July 31, 1849 (I have copies of the City of Cambridge record and the Archdiocese of Boston records from St. Peter's Church in Cambridge, MA - very little information is given in these documents just their names the date of marriage, the Priest who officiated and the wittnesses) and moved to Batavia, IL - Patrick is believed to be a brother or cousin of our relative Michael Pillion who arrived in the US on November 17, 1852. His naturalization paper list his birth date as January 6, 1836 and that he was born in County Roscommon, Ireland. Ted Pillion who did some family research years ago believed that they came from Athlone, Ireland - if so, it would have to be on the east side of the river in Athlone to be in County Roscommon in 1836.

Do you know what country your Pillion family originated from?? On the 1880 Census there were some Pillion families from Ireland and some from France.

Thanks again for posting your information. I think the Abby you listed is the daughter of Patrick & Bridget Noon Pillion. They were in Batavia, IL on the 1880 census with
Patrick age 58 born in Ireland
Bridget age 47 born in Ireland
Patrick son age 21 born IL
Abba dau age 15 born IL

If you have made connections overseas let us know - keep us informed of your research, I have come across a lot of family search info on the Yeary family during my search on the internet.

Best of wishes to you and your family,

Judy Morley
