James, after seeing another posting of yours, we may be 2 different Pillots. My oldest is Claude Nicholas, b 8/10/1783, Haute Saone region of France. Family came to NY where CN went into the lumber business. He & wife had 8 children, my ancestress the youngest & only one b in US, 2/1832. They came to TX abt 8/1837, obtained a land certificate & settled in NW Harris Co., in the Willow Creek area. CN had 3 sons that lived to reproductive age (or so is known now), Joe Eugene, Chas Gabriel, August (died young). Some of the grandsons & beyond are Teoline, Norman, Joe E Jr., Eugene. Have almost nothing on CN's other son Charles Gabriel & his descendants, Chas August lived a week and the junior I only have a birthdate. Family moved to Houston where many remain. A Pillot House is part of a historical park in Houston (the names escapes me at the moment). A similar park in the Tomball area also has an original Pillot home, but as it was donated by a Griffin, it carries that name. Some of the females married names are Cuenod, Bock, Sellers, Dresher, Woodward, Unzicker, Bender, Brink, Benefield, CAmmack--anything sound familiar?
