Hello, I have a POSSIBLE answer for you. The Pillows were all in TN at one time, and it is likely some moved south into Alabama. (I am a Pillow descendant, though not on Gen. Pillow's side) Gen. Gideon Pillow (Jr) had 15 children. I will list them below. One was named Robert "Granville" Pillow. This middle name could have perhaps been something else similar?
Marriage Mary Elizabeth MARTIN b: 2 APR 1812

Anyway, just a suggestion. I can provide further information if you are interested. Virginia Mylius
