I hope someone will please help straighten this out. Here is what I have definitely . William C.Pillow and a Gideon Pillow were in Wilson Co TN in 1806.By 1820 Gideon is no longer there. But William C.Pillow in May 1834 was bond for Milton McGehee in the marriage of Milton to Lydia Alexander in Wilson Co. Then William died in fall of 1834 in Wilson Co.His widow was Adeline (McGehee?). She later in 1850 married Alexander Brightwell of Prince Edward Co Va and in Wilson Co and moved to Weakley Co TN and with 2 Pillow children Thomas and a girl who was insane plus 3 more children later by Brightwell .Milton McGehee had gone to Weakley in 1840 and died in Weakley in 1846. Milton and Adeline are related probably sister. She was born 1805.Have other family info on this to prove.
Anyway Milton had remarried in 1837 Wilson Co to Mary Drollinger dau of John Drollinger who died in Wilson Co 1822. John had been in NC and went to Bedford Co TN 1806 moved to Wilson by 1819.He was in war of 1812.In this 2nd marriage Milton's bond was Henry R.Thompson . Henry had 1st wife Madding/Madden 1838 2nd wife in 1840 was Priddy of NC.Te Drollinger family all moved from Wison Co with Milton n 1840 to Weakley. William Swain is connected to the Drollingers there.
Milton is said to be from Halifax VA. I also know John McGehee was close to Jasper Pillow in Rev War in Prince Edward Co VA and fought together and were issued cloths together on same day.
I am trying desperately to find the parents of my Milton McGehee. 47 years now and I am losing my eyesight. I have seen so many posts on this Pillow site that connect with my McGehee's in Weakley Co TN or Wilson Co. Like Stubblefield and Warren and Cole and Alexander. There was a John McGehee who married Judith Cole and was in TN .There were many many McGehee's in Lincoln Co Tn and Bedford-Maury-Giles-Sumner-Smith and other counties in TN very early.
The name McGehee has been horribly misspelled as McGee-McGhee-McGaughey-McKee-Magee- Megee MackGayhe etc etc. Can all of you please look for names in your files and see if you have any connection to any spelling that may explain why William C.Pillow (son of John and brother to Gideon) would be the bond for my Milton in 1834. Thanks for any help at all. Grabbing at straws now. Pat
