I have been researching the Pim family for several years. My earliest Pim is Richard, who left England for Ireland in about 1640, he was born about 1595. His family became Quakers in Ireland. In 1730 one of his descendants emigrated to Chester Co., PA. Pim is not a common name. I read (can't remember where) that it has it origins in the Old Testament, something about a unit of money.
