I KNOW THE SURNAME PIMIENTA CAME FORM SPAIN, IN PORTUGAL IT IS PIMENTA, BUT PIMIENTA IS SPANISH. I ALSO KNOW IT IS LISTED AS A NAME OF JEWISH PEOPLE ORIGINALLY. I SUPPOSE MANY CONVERTED LATER. ALL I KNOW IS THE NAME IS SPANISH. MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER WAS A PIMIENTA AND MY GRANDMOTHER ALSO CARRIED THE NAME ALONG WITH HER FATHER'S SURNAME AS IS THE SPANISH CUSTOM. ALTHOUG THIS SURNAME IS NOT VERY WIDESPREAD, IN CUBA,WHERE I CAME FROM,
EVERYONE WITH THIS SURNAME IN THE FAMILY WAS RELATED. THIS IS ALL I KNOW.
