I'm so happy to find a Pina! I sure hope we're related, because I'm having a hard time finding my great-mother's ancestry. Her name was Concepcion Pina, until she married G. C. Howell, from Devine, Texas, around 1905 and moved to Harlingen, Texas, where lived until she died in 1970. Her 91 year old daughter, Dorothy, says she was born in Devine, but my uncle, Jack Howell, who lived with grandma for many years, says she was born in Laredo. She had a half sister named Paula J. Hodges, but I don't know what her maiden name was. The family story goes that Marcus/Marcos Pina came to Mexico from Spain when he was 10. That's all I know.
I also posted to Carla Toner (Pina) below. Maybe we all have
common ancestry.
So what do you think?
