Hi Lawrence, I tried to do a posting when I read your message but it wouldn't do thru. If this does not, I will try your email. It is funny that I was reading the same book about your wife's family. Conchtown,USA. I bought it months ago and had just not had a chance to read it. All I can tell you is my Pinder line was in Cherokee Sd. Abaco when they came to U.S. in l888 and settled in Key Largo. I know all the Pinders are related from way back but not sure my Pinders were on Long Island before coming to Cherokee Sd. They were first there in l808 when Ridley Pinder got the first land grant. There are more than one Ridley Pinders so I have not got that staight yet. But I believe Ridley Pinder left Harbour Island and moved to Cherokee Sd. A Ridley Pinder was on the l790 census of Eleuthera, Harbour Island is off Eleuthera and most people lived H.I. and farmed Eleuthera. But- I was also told from someone of Cherokee that there were two lines of Pinders at cherokee, one did not have family and the other came from Long Island. I have never found a connection though. I do have an email address from someone who's family was at long Island and contact her to see what she may know. Diane Zant zant456@freenet.tlh.fl.us. This is an old address, hope it is still good. I am sure I have also been in contact with others that had ancestors from Long Island but can't think who right now. Let me know what you find out. If you can but something together I can maybe take you all the way back. I have all I could find on all old Pinders. I have researched in Nassau and wrote down all I could on Pinders.
