Dear Mary Ellen,
Have been researching my husband's Pinder family from Long Island,Bah. Oldest KNOWN ancestor is John William Pinder and wife Margaret Johnson Pinder, shopkeepers in Nassau ca.1865. His son Theophilus was my Husb.'s grgrandfa.(born ca. 1840.) Have records of many Pinders in early Bahamas (1733 and up) and wonder how they are related to Ridley. Do you know Ridley's parents? One Ridley I have was very active politically, in Nassau and then lived on Harbor Island. Is he yours? His parents are John and Frances Barnett Pinder - both from early shipbuilding and mariner families in Nassau.I have another Ridley Pinder with a will written in 1735, wife Athenias, son Daniel.. I'm sure they are all related somehow way back. All family stories say this family was quite the gambling, drinking, sea-going type. You can e-mail me privately if you like.
