I mentioned to my mother that I had heard from you, and she remembered the following little 'stories' from her grandmother, Mary Eliza Pineo (George Bentley Pineo's sister). Mary Eliza went out to the US Plains (Kansas, etc) to visit her uncle William Bentley Pineo and his family when she was a teenager. She related boiling water in a tub over an open fire. She also talked about going to local dances, and having to keep meat in the wagon to throw to the wolves on the way home at night. I thought you might find these bits interesting - I always do. They make our ancestor seem not so very distant. Cheers, and looking forward to hearing from a new cousin!
