These names seem to be used interchangeably. Do not overlook these names when researching your name. Even in the same document, the name may be Pinion and Pennell. I have a Reuben Pinion whose name was even spelled Peniose and Pennel. All variations were used: Pennel, Pinnel, Pannel, Paniel. Common Christian names in these lines were Thomas and William.
