I'm a descendant of Michael Garmon and Sarah Banion (or Pinion, or Pinyan, depending on whose data you read). She has been a dead end for me until I found your posts. I had been searching only under the name Banion.

Information on this family seems pretty sketchy, but you seem to have gone back to the original sources, so I think your data is more trustworthy.

Can you shed any light on how the surname should properly be spelled? Where did "Banion" come from? And have you been able to trace this family's roots on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean?
