Please kindly supply the proof that John Pennell of Middlesex VA ever came to Nc and ever owned land or was ever buried there.

The earliest Pennell in the area our Thomas Pinion/Pennell lived was Benjamin Paniel who died 1778 in Surry county Nc whose wife was probably Susannah Hill.

This Benjamin may have indeed come to Surry NC from Middlesex Virginia around 1760 with the Hills and Halberts as William and Robert Hill were the witnesses to his will and John Halbertw as his executor.

The children named in the 1779 estate settlement of Benjamin Paniel are :Thomas ,William ,Betty and Mary.

William appears to have left NC and appears in Giles county TN with some of the Halberts by the time of petitions signed their in 1814.

Thomas Paniel/Pennell son of Benjamin and Suzannah Paniel of Surry NC is most likely the actual ancestor of Thomas Pinion who is our mutual ancestor.

The Parish Register of Christ Church does indeed show that John and Elizabeth Ingram Pennell had a son Thomas but there is no documentation in Surry county NC, or its Parent County Rowan, John and Elizabeth ever came to NC ,owned land or died there.

I will be researching proof that John and Elizabeth and their descendants are not the NC Pennels ancestors as I also attempt to prove Benjamin Paniel and Susannah were.

If you have doumentation that is foudned and supported regarded John and Elizabeth Ingram Pennell please supply it.
I have researched the Surry county NC records and The NC State archives and the Virginia archives for over 25 years and have never seen any proven link that John and Elizabeth were the parents of Thomas Pennell of Surry and Wilkes NC.
