hi, my name is alex pinion and at one time my father, james ogburn pinion (we are all of the alabama persuasion) swears that up until someitme in the mid 1920's our name was spelled pinyan. i don't have any reason to doubt this but we are starting to look for relatives and the double spelling doesn't help matters! LOL My grandfather was John Oscar Pinion born i believe in either kentucky or ducktown, tn. Moved to alabama early 1900's . His mother's name was mary magdalene pinion. is any of this of any help to you? please write back and let me in on what you have. it would be a great help. we really don't have much information and we're really new to geneology. I live on Signal Mountain, TN by the way.
