George W. Pinyan

Hi. I am trying to link my lineage with the N.C./S.C. Pinions. Here is what I have for certain.

My GG grandfather was George W. Pinyan born in South Carolina in 1827. Married Nancy H. Dawson (unsure of maiden name). Bought land near Harrison, Arkansas in 1876. Their offspring: John V. Pinyan (my great-grandfather) b. 1868, Robert Lee Pinyan b. 1870, and possibly both Augustus H. Pinyan b. 1852 and George W. Pinyan (II) b. 1854.

Robert Lee Pinyan married Cora Ellen Belmear Dec 31, 1895 and had 4 children: Ruth Pinyan Osborn (1896), Charles Pinyan (1901), Leslie Belmear Pinyan (1904), and Dorothy Sunshine Pinyan (1906).

John V. Pinyan married agnes Ferguson and had 8 children: Ivan Douglas (my grandfather, born 1891), Earl, Neal, Dugald (1898), Louis (died 1918 in WWI), Bruce, Norma, and Louise (died in infancy).

My father believed that George W. (1827) was the son of Stokes Pinyan, but from what I have read on this forum, Stokes' children are known, and there was no George among them. The other possibility is that George W. was the son of a brother or half-brother of Stokes: Thomas, Benjamen, or Younger. It seems likely based on birthplace that he was from Rueben Pinion's line.

I would be grateful for any help finding George W.'s father.
