William, hope you are still active. My e-mail has changed in the interim.
I am still trying to determine the origins of the Malinda Pinion listed as head of household on the 1850 Census of Cass Co., GA, in proximity to the families of Elish Pinion, Berry Pinion, and Jefferson Pinion. I have determined that Malinda was widowed by the death of her husband Presley Pinion in 1850, who must have some relation to the other families... possibly a brother. Information that John Berry Pinion married Katherine Hand, a full-blooded Cherokee, is encouraging in my search for Indian relations. If these men are brothers, and one of them married a Cherokee, then were they part Indian themselves? and possibly the others married Indians? Jefferson married a Sarah ?, Berry married a Katherine (Hand?), Elish married a Sarah ?, Presley married a Malinda ? Any info on these wives appreciated.
