Another member of the family which can document a change of name from Pinion to Pinnell was Turner Pinion/Pinnell who died in Greenville Co., SC in 1832. His wife was Elizabeth Cooley. Elizabeth died in 1851. Children were:
(1) Cynthia b. ca 1811 m. George W. Turner and they lived in 1850 in Anderson Co., SC
(2) Rebecca b. 1816 m. James R. Cooley and went to MS
(3) Lewis J. Pinnell b. 1821 went to MS
(4) Nancy Pinnell b. ca 1824 m. Carter T. Chapman
(5) Lucinda b. Dec 1828 m. Pinkney L. Pepper
(6) Elizabeth M. b. Oct 1831 m. ca 1854 John Jasper Mattison

Greenville Co., SC Deed Book X, p. 456
21 Jan 1853 L. J. Pinell, James R. Cooley & wf Rebecca Cooley of Miss., Carter Chapman & wf Nancy of Greenville Co., George W. Turner & wf Cynthia, P. L. Pepper and wf Lucinda and E. M. Pinnell of Anderson Co. to John J. Cooley & Jacob M. Cooley, interest in estate of Turner Pinell, $689, 106 acres branch of Saluda River bounded by Murray Woodson, J. C. Cockram, Sam Williams and others. Wit. Wm. Cooley & J. W. Poore.

There are some other deeds involving these same people as they settle the estate.
